Sakai IMS Import not working

Description

A sample Sakai IMS package (see attached file) will not import through the IMS transport tool.

The Sakai IMS package does not conform to eduCommons IMS content packaging standards. The following problems are present:

  • There should be a metadata section with LOM and eduCommons specific sections for each resource.
  • Each resource must contain a *file* tag with the file path in the *href* attribute.
  • Items in the organization section should have the isVisible attribute set if the items are to appear in the left hand navigation.
  • The manifest should be using IMS CP version 1.2 instead of 1.1.4
  • The manifest file does not validate against the XML Schemas.

These are the issues I can see off the top of my head. There are probably more. To be fair we have not yet sent our eduCommons IMS CP format documentation to them. We should work with them to get the correct format, and then address any issues.

The manifest as is does not contain enough information to be able to import stuff into eduCommons.
