Description

If a customer wanted to hide one or more of these pages how would he/she do it?

There's a state: visible, but no way to change it within the UI.

  • Type changed from defect to enhancement

This is a feature request.

Currently, Ploen handles this only in the ZMI.

  • Summary changed from "Hiding" Help, About OCW, and sub-pages to "Hiding" OR "Deleting" Help, About OCW, and sub-pages

What if they wanted to delete the page?

Still an enhancement, or a 'bug' in default Plone.

OK, after some further investigation, there is a bug in eduCommons in how the Tabs are hooked up to the GObjects.

Will fix in a later version.

  • Milestone changed from 2.2.0 to 2.3.0

Currently eduCommons adds these actions by default in the install script. At some point it may make sense to move to the default Plone behavior.

Comments from #328 :

How are the Top Nav labels related to the page title? It seems as if you need to make a change in two places (and keep them synchronized) if you want to change the Feedback top nav item, for example, into something labeled "Contact Us". Is that true? And is there a more elegant way of handling this?

  • Status changed from new to closed
  • Version changed from Seattle 2.2.0-rc1 to Untagged
  • Resolution set to fixed

This has been fixed. Users may now remove existing top level tabs, and add new tabs via a new GObject at the top level.

To clarify the initial bug, the controller for this is ExcludeFromNav?, not the state (visible/hidden).

eduCommons *never* displays these top level objs in the left hand nav, but the controller is how Plone determines if a top level object has a Tab.

It is now also possible to change the Title of the Tab, allowing for more flexibility without poking into the ZMI.
